SCOTTWORKS: THE RAYMOND SCOTT FESTIVAL
ScottWorks |The inaugural Raymond Scott Festival
Musician, inventor, and visionary Raymond Scott will be feted on September 8 at the Colony Theatre in Burbank, CA. As influential today as he ever has been, Scott's musical and technological achievements have become widely known, heard across pop culture in film, TV, animated cartoons and sampled by many modern musicians.
Symposium day with gallery displays, interactive exhibitions and panel topics covering Scott's 1930s jazz compositions through his 1960s electronic music inventions, and a live concert by night featuring 3 time Grammy-nominated Quartet San Francisco led by Jeremy Cohen, and the Reckless Night Ensemble helmed by Skip Heller. Every ticket includes a streaming passcode for "Deconstructing Dad," Stan Warnow's award-winning documentary about his father Raymond Scott.
Daytime and day/night tickets include coffee and Porto's pastries in the morning and a reception at the end of the day (beer, wine, light hors d'oeuvres). There are many lunch options within walking distance.
