Desire....the culmination
DONNA STERNBERG & DANCERS presents "Desire...the culmination", the conclusion of a two-year project that uses the framework of plant biology to explore desire from the plant and human point of view as well as the intersection between the two. Ripe with stunning imagery, the full evening-length work dives into topics such as parasitical desire, beauty and desire, intoxication, pollination/sexuality, and the desires that reside in the deep recesses of our beings. Spoken text along with dance melds the personal with the abstract, creating an emotionally resonant evening. Musical selections, including original compositions by Ken Christianson and Lizbeth Scott, create washes of texture and color that enhance the differing moods of the work. "Desire" is a continuation of Donna Sternberg & Dancers science series, that seeks to build bridges between science and dance by using scientific investigation to draw metaphors for human engagement.
