. CHRIS TRAPPER
Chris Trapper is a modern day folk-singer whose live show is a favorite among fans of alt-acoustic music. Chris' organic understanding of classic pop melody is infectious. His on-stage persona is warm and inclusive, his songs speak to the heart and to everyday experiences. Audience members seem to particularly appreciate the lighthearted moments with the ukulele. Chris is perhaps most known for his original song This Time, the #1 selling tune on the Grammy nominated soundtrack for August Rush. Original frontman for beloved '90s alternative rock band THE PUSH STARS, Chris Trapper is equally sure-footed in his solo career with original tunes on 5 solo CDs, a variety of film and TV placements, and the distinction of having co-written the focus tracks on Fortune's Favour, the gold record from Canadian band Great Big Sea. Chris Trapper's ability to craft songs that are both elegant and accessible is evident on each CD in his deep Discography. There is a smart, honest quality to the lyrics that never panders. Chris Trapper's music can best be described as intricate power pop with a compelling knack for telling everyday stories.
Kate Flanigan began singing and playing guitar at a young age, but it wasn't until she went to study abroad in England -- with her father's blue ukulele in tow -- that her passion for writing music was ignited. Born and raised in upstate NY, Kate is new to Westchester and is quickly making a name for herself. With light-hearted love songs on her uke, and story songs told with her accoustic guitar, Kate's expressive style and ability to connect with an audience will leave you with a happy heart.
