Known most widely as an actor, Jeff Daniels is also a passionate musician with a couple decades of gigs under his belt. He especially relishes intimate stages at clubs such as Passim, City Winery, Cactus Cafe, the Rams Head Tavern, Mucky Ducks, The Ark and now, finally, Caffe Lena.
He has toured both coasts with his sons band, the Ben Daniels Band, and has shared the stage with Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, Joe Ely, Guy Clark, Keb Mo, and Bruce Hornsby. He performed at David Brombergs 70th Birthday Bash at NYCs Town Hall and he has studied under folk and blues master Stefan Grossman.
In 2012, the Martin Guitar Company began selling the OM Jeff Daniels Custom Artist Edition Guitar. He also narrated the award winning documentary, The Ballad Of The Dreadnought.
With George Merkel on guitar, Tommy Reifel on bass, Wesley Fritzemeier on drums/mandolin, and Amanda Merte on percussion/vocals, The Ben Daniels Band provides fulsome accompaniment and fine original songs by natural poet, musician, bandleader, and son of Jeff, Ben Daniels.
