The last time folk-pop singer-songwriter Jonatha Brooke played Caffe Lena was in 1992 with her duo, The Story. The Story quickly moved out of our orbit when they signed with Elektra Records. Jonatha released a pair of radio-ready solo records on MCA/Universal before launching six more albums from her own independent label, Bad Dog Records.
As a gifted storyteller with an irresistible voice, Brooke began receiving film and television commissions. She can be heard in the soundtrack for three Disney films, various television shows and she composed the theme song for Joss Whedon's Dollhouse. Recently she has been co-writing with Katy Perry and The Courtyard Hounds.
In a departure from the concert stage, Brooke created and performed a one-woman play, My Mother Has 4 Noses, inspired by her mother's battle with dementia. The play opened to critical acclaim at the Duke Theater in New York in 2014.
