"Someone hold me . . . this is so good it makes me dizzy . . . If you like your music of the Louisiana-ragtime-blues-dixieland-country-screamin'-folky-twang Tin Pan Alley type then this is for you." -Steve Gardner, WXDU Radio
Mentored through his early years by the late, great Dave Van Ronk, Wallaces gritty folk-rock-blues is edgy, dangerous, and very exciting. Playing great new arrangements of traditional songs and stop-you-in-your-tracks originals, Wallaces work speaks to his station in life: he has fallen in and out of love, busted a few knuckles and bruised a couple of shins. The band (Jeremy on vocals, guitar and piano; Matt Gruenberg on upright bass, and Tom Costagliola on drums) has immediate appeal for fans of Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett and Bruce Springsteen.
We're thrilled to welcome opener Sunny War to our stage. Over the last few years this LA blueswoman has evolved from Venice Beach busker to fast-rising national artist. Her old-time blues guitar chops impress traditionalists and her ethereal lyricism wins over contemporary music lovers.
