Alan Kaufman has played old time fiddle for more than 30 years, and was a member of the influential Wretched Refuse Stringband. He is also a fine guitar and mandolin player. He is responsible for starting and leading several well-attended jams in the greater Boston area, where he is also a much-sought-after fiddle teacher.
Andy Cohen is a finger-style guitarist who has been described as "a walking, talking folk-blues-roots music encyclopedia." He has toured the likes of Martin, Bogan and Armstrong, John Jackson, Rev. Gary Davis, Brother Daniel Womack, Rev. Dan Smith, Jim Brewer, and Honeyboy Edwards and worked extensively with Walt and Ethel Phelps, Big Joe Duskin, Pigmeat Jarrett, Etta Baker, Big Boy Henry, and Son Thomas. Andy is also a teacher and has helped to support a number of his mentors and younger players, by organizing festivals and other venues for them to play.
Linda McRae is a Canadian US based songwriter/multi-instrumentalist and 2016 BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Pioneer Inductee. Linda has performed in venues as diverse as Vancouvers Orpheum Theatre with the VSO and New Folsom Prison, where she facilitates writing workshops for the inmates. She has also helped create Express Yourself Writing Workshops across North America.
