Presented by Black Widows
Spend an intimate evening with Black Widows and friends as they perform an all-instrumental set of original exotica songs off their brand new EP release, Sounds of Tortuga Island. Without setting down their electric guitars, Black Widows have created a musical landscape evocative of a place much warmer than Minnesota. With help from the BW Go-Go Dancers and Singers and musical special guests, Black Widows will take you on an aural journey to Tortuga Island. Proceeds from Sounds of Tortuga Island will benefit the opening of Tortuga Island, a future feminist art/music/community space run by none other than Black Widows themselves.
Minneapolis based punk-surf-soul band, Black Widows, is comprised of Pamela Laizure on bass, Corinne Caouette on guitar, Sarah Muellerleile on guitar and keyboard, and Tanya Tobalyas Moore on drums. A versatile group of musicians, Black Widows is known for their wily, surfy guitar tones, gritty keyboard licks, and heavy drums and bass, topped by catchy lyrics and girl-group harmonies. As if that perfect rock-and-roll storm wasnt enough, many of their jaw-dropping stage shows feature the Black Widow Go-Go Dancers, Black Widow Singers, and a variety of guest musicians who live to entertain. In addition to releasing an instrumental exotica EP in April, Black Widows are currently working on a full-length album and conspiring to open Tortuga Island later this year. They also have a full calendar of fun spring and summer shows, so find them or they will find you!
