Saratoga Originals is a new series that features professional musicians and songwriters from the Saratoga region. This show features Ria CURLEY, Mark EMANATION and Jeff BRISBIN, three staples of the Saratoga music scene, performing their original music for a room of attentive listeners. The show will begin with sets from all three of these musicians and conclude with a collaborative Nashville-style songwriters round.
RIA CURLEY is a singer/songwriter who hails from Central NY and, after college (Colgate), spent 15 years writing, performing and co-producing music (including 22 songs for Warner/Chappell Music Publishing and a Sinatra box set for Columbia Records) in New York City. Rias bountiful music career has also included NYC radio airplay, TV appearances and featured performances at iconic venues in NYC and beyond (e.g. Radio City, Carnegie Hall, WBLS and more). Since moving to Saratoga, Ria has continued making her own music and has added her favorite jazz & r&b standards to the mix, pleasing crowds all over our region. She currently performs with acclaimed jazz pianist Chuck Lamb and has been a featured performer for our Bob Dylan tributes and our Jazz series. Ria was also a featured artist on the celebrated Saratoga Pie CD, produced by Grammy-winner Joel Moss and the late Charlie Eble to benefit local charities.
MARK EMANATION is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter, who made a name for himself as the lead and slide guitarist for the highly acclaimed blues band Ernie Williams and the Wildcats. Emanatian recorded six independent-label albums with the Wildcats, co-producing and writing more than his share of the material. Emanatian has appeared on stage with blues notables such as Hubert Sumlin, Lonnie Brooks, and Buddy Guy. In addition, Emanatian has performed on stage with Patty Smith, Levon Helm, and Bruce Willis. Emanatian was voted Bandleader of the Year in 2000 by Metroland Magazine. After a decade with the Wildcats, Emanatian formed Folding Sky, which is a dynamic four-piece blues band.
Saratoga Native JEFF BRISBIN has been writing songs since he was 6 years old. The Songs about blue cars and big trucks, have given way to those about the navigation of the heart. Jeff has released two Albums Uncharted Waters and his newest 2017 Album, Foreverly. An engaging Live Performer, Jeff has performed all over the Northeast over 2,500 times since 2001.
