California-based string wizard Tony Furtado is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist adept on banjo, cello-banjo, slide guitar and baritone ukulele. Known as a musician's musician, he is a sought out sideman for top bluegrass artists such as Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas, Tim OBrien, Stuart Duncan, Kelly Joe Phelps, Tony Trishka, Tom Adams, and Mike Marshall. His solo shows defy musical boundaries with set lists that encompass bluegrass to blues, folk to rock, banjo to slide guitar. Folk and blues tradition is his starting point, and from there his imagination creates an improvisational soundscape that is technically masterful and sonically delightful!
