VIE BOHEME
Vie Boheme was born in Motown, developed in Pittsburgh and refined in Minneapolis. She describes her sound as a fusion of fusions. Live instrumentation with real instruments and her voice are the playground for an eclectic sound with elements of soul and electronica fused in.
She is a current dance artist with Camille A. Brown and Dancers and a vocal artist for Stokley Williams. She is a former dance artist with TU Dance a founding member of The August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble and a soul, funk, jazz vocalist and choreographer of her own solo dance work. She is also a Vinyasa yoga instructor teaching in Minneapolis and wherever her music takes her.
Her latest single 'Take Cover' is available for purchase and live streaming on iTunes, Amazon.com, & Spotify.
MAYYADDA
Mayyadda is a young yet seasoned Korean Adoptee multi-musician/artist/producer from the land of 10,000 Lakes. Her R&B-infused pop is undeniably fresh, as she swings between pared-down acoustic struts, full-band funkadelic blasts, and electronic drumbeats and synth flourishes that would make the Purple One proud. The result is a slick, expansive, and evolving pop sound, aided in part by producer and mentor Michael Bland (who drummed with Prince in the early 90s and currently plays with Nick Jonas), whose Sonic Matrimony Collective label released Mayyaddas first full-length, The Interrogation, last year. The prolific young soul singer is just beginning her journey, but its hard not to anticipate big things from the petite yet larger-than-life pop songstress. -Andrea Swensson, The Current
Her music has been featured locally as well as internationally. Numerous of Maydas songs have been on Rachael Ray show, Good Morning America, KFC youtube, Reebok Seoul commercials, Jersey Shore, and cable networks such as Showtime and MTV.
Recently, she has just signed with South Korean Indie Label, Musicaroma/Feel Good Inc. On a her 3-week tour in Seoul, Mayda was able to meet her birth parents for the first time. In lieu of the performances, her trip was documented on public television as well as media print. In the middle of March, Mayda then went on a 2-week tour debuting in Europe from Ireland, Germany, Copenhagen, Spain, to Sweden! On returning to the US, Mayyadda is releasing a brand new batch of songs in the beginning and end of this year in addition to collaborating with Mu Theater Arts
CHANCE YORK
Chance York is the Minneapolis emcee, well-known for work with his jazzy quartet, Crunchy Kids. 2016 was a remarkable year for Chance, releasing his first solo EP, Fed and Famished. The EP was brief and experimental, mentioned as one of the best MN hip hop releases of the year by GO95. As a favorite special guest in each vein of Minneapolis hip-hops sub-genres, Chance exploded onto the scene as an act all his own.
He released the Crop EP with the ever-popular, Crunchy Kids and toured regionally, blessing the main stage of SummerSet Music Festival, opening up for Chance the Rapper. In addition to his work with Crunchy Kids, as a member of City Pages 2015 Best New Act, Eric Maysons Detail, Chance firmly established himself as a dynamic showman, singer, and potent rapper, with his abilities crossing lines of genre and subculture.
As 2016 comes to a close, Chance released Highest Self, an album produced entirely by championed producer, Big Cats! Highest Self fuses banging 808s and hi hats with beautiful musical compositions, orchestrated to fit Chances profound explorations of spirit science, deep insights into optimism and a levity on current events.
