Described by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys as a blend of Karen Dalton and Joanna Newsom, Gaelynn Lea combines elements of classical, folk, and Celtic music to craft gorgeous, unforgettable songs. Lea has Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a genetic condition that causes complications in the development of bones and limbs, yet this obstacle has only increased her determination to rise to the top of the music world. Last year, she won NPRs Tiny Desk Concert, and made waves by delivering a Ted Talk at Yale University on the subjects of sexuality, the challenges faced by people with disabilities, and using art as a vessel to overcome physical limitations.
