From time to time young Hal Ketchum played Caffe Lena's open mic when he was a kid growing up in nearby Washington County. He moved south in his teens and over the next several years developed into a major Nashville star. His career was studded with chart-topping singles, gold records, and a collection of literate songs that made him a household name. Then came health problems and burn out and Ketchum dropped out of music and holed up in the Texas Hill Country. Five years of recuperation resulted in 2014's comeback album, "I'm the Troubadour." Now in his '60s, Ketchum isn't following any industry rules. He isn't catering to any trends. He follows his muse from bluesy, roadhouse rock & roll to jazzy folk and blues. His old-soul husky voice and earthy lyrics reveal a true talent burnished and strengthened by time. This will be his first performance back on the Caffe Lena stage in about 50 years.
