LIZEA HARPER
With resilient roots of overcoming physical, mental and financial adversities and engaging in subsequent activist work, Lizea Harper has transformed her experiences into Dive, a refreshing hip hop album, with raw authenticity. The message manifests itself in melodic spoken word as a conscious journey of elation and injury. Lizea strives to channel her passion for social justice issues into the foundation of every piece, and she uses this groundwork as a basis for healing, awareness and action.
DUA
Dua is a multidisciplinary performing artist based in Minneapolis. Using diverse afro-diasporic influences, the work produced by this artist provides audiences with ripe and unrefined emotions. Dua has gained regional recognition for song writing and spoken word. This has landed the artist the 2017 VERVE Grant for spoken word and readings at places like the Cedar Cultural Center, Lowertown Reading Jam, Button Poetry, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and more. Recently the artist has also received a role as a primary character in Sweetness of Wild a Free Black Dirt Production.
DEVADA DAUN
Devata Daun is Nikki Pfeifer. Recording artist and co-owner of Pytch Records. Shes become a fresh and bold curiosity in the Minneapolis electronic and indie music scenes. She's been very busy not only performing as Devata Daun but also as a dj making regular appearances at Dark Energy, guest dj at Nightchain, and throwing her own dance parties at Kitty Cat Klub. Her most recent project is doing techno hardware sets under the pen name Tekk Nikk.
Devata Daun had her debut release on Pytch Records in April of 2016 called look. Its a subversive insight to an intellectual phenomenon currently believed to be more than just captured government transmissions, lost shortwave beacons or military Muzak. Through a series of silent meetings, c.Kostra was employed by Devata Daun to help break a variety of intriguing codes. These songs are compilations of their findings arranged in harmony.
