TAMAR EISENMAN
Tamar Eisenman and her trio band celebrate the official global release of her new album. On My Way is Tamars 6th album including new songs, tracks from her previous albums, exclusive collaborations and newremixes!
The virtuosic guitarist icon singer-songwriter and artist began her musical career with the release of her self-titled and produced EP in 2003 composed and recorded at her home studio. The Ep distributed independently and mainly word of mouth making a substantial impact and quickly received massive attention from the local press centering Tamar in the evolving upcoming indie/alternative pop-rock music scene in Israel and signing to NMC Music label for her future album releases.
It took me two days to recover from the shock, recalling a great musical experience in which I saw Gary Moore, B.B. King, and Jimi Hendrix all on one stage Reflected through Tamar Eisenman, whose performance borders on perfection.
Dont let Tamar Eisenmans diminutive stature fool you - shes a musical heavyweight." David Brinn
Tamar released five official studio albums. Mixing meticulous yet live-feel production styles with a sensitive singer-songwriter ethic, Tamar is a singer-songwriter and guitarist that regularly shatters stereotypes. Presenting a versatile musical attitude, she sounds equally at ease with the delicate acoustic ballads as she does with energetic guitar riffs driven songs. Tamar has opened for Jeff Beckand performed with Kaki King.
Tamar spent a part of her childhood in San Francisco with her family. At the age of six, she was first introduced to rock, folk, blues and country music and started picking the little guitar.
Growing up in Israel she was eager to create a new female voice in Israels rock music scene by exploring various influences of gender identities and cultural fluidities. Tamar has been paving an independent musical journey stretching all her strings as she always explores new boundaries. Today, Tamar, based in New York City performs her new solo and trio band shows and brings an exact combination of vulnerability and ruggedness, shyness and extroversion of rock & folk. All these nuances blend into a fabulous musical concoction she calls "Hip-Rock." With her guitars and lyrics, Tamar, a big small lady (Jeff Beck) is creating each time a new musical experience on stage.
Surprise, surprise, Shes not Hendrix, or Moore, or BB at all. Shes Tamar Eisenman and if you get a chance to hear her live or on record you will know, that in a world where so many people sound the same, thats someone very special indeed. Eisenman is very, very much as her CD title proclaims, On her way. 3songsbonn 2015
JAVIER SANTIAGO
Javier Santiago is a powerful young artist with a strong vision. Born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, he grew up surrounded by strong artistic support. He was given a strong musical background by his jazz musician parents, as well as stalwarts of the local jazz community. Javier started playing piano at the age of 5, and was classically trained until he discovered his love of jazz music at the age of 11. In high school, he was a prominent player in the Minneapolis/St. Paul music scene. It was around this time that he started composing and working on his music production skills. While still in high school, he organized his own quintet and produced two albums. He also won the Schubert Club Jazz Piano Competition two years in a row.
In 2007, Javier was selected by the great Dave Brubeck and a panel of judges to be a part of the Brubeck Institute Fellowship program at the University of the Pacific in California. It was there that Javier was able to learn from some of the greatest musicians in the world; Christian McBride, Robert Glasper, Eric Harland, Joe Gilman, Nicholas Payton, Joshua Redman, Geoffrey Keezer and Jeff Ballard to name a few. While at the Brubeck Institute, Javier was fortunate enough to play at venues all across the nation such as the Detroit Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Center and Blues Alley in Washington, D.C., IAJE, and Yoshis in Oakland.
The Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet (08-09) was awarded Best College Group Of the Year in DownBeat Magazine two years in a row (2009 and 2010).
In 2011, Javier was selected to participate in the 14th Annual Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program. The intensive residency program took place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. It was there that Javier studied with Curtis Fuller, George Cables, Winard Harper, Dr. Nathan Davis, and other jazz heavyweights.
Javier received his Bachelors degree in Jazz Piano Performance in late 2011 at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. Since then, he has been playing gigs regularly in NYC at venues such as Smalls Jazz Club, 55 Bar, The Iridium, and several others. He also was a finalist in the 2015 American Jazz Pianist Competition. Javier is not limited to just playing the piano. He is also a prolific composer. His work is an eclectic blend of Jazz, R&B, Rock, Hip Hop and everything in between. Javier is also a teacher, arranger, and producer.
