EXOTIC MATTER
Exotic Matter was created by Winter Ference and Nick Swanson. Starting out as a mere idea, it blossomed into an incredible project that grew from being a hobby into a passion. Exotic Matter has gained a large amount of traction in mere months, from playing smaller venues to the largest nightclubs in Minneapolis. They have headlined multiple festivals (Grand Old Days, Highland Fest, and Lunar Freakuency) as well as major venues such as The Cabooze, The Pourhouse, The Garage and Honey. They released their self-produced debut album on April 7th to a packed house and have had great success in growing their fan base through Spotify, iTunes, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Apple Radio, Google Play and SoundCloud. Through a combined effort, they have managed to create a live dance show that is not only energetic and engaging, but incredibly polished and unique. By having a live band playing electronic-based music, as well as a DMX controlled EDM light show, Exotic Matter brings a new feel to the Minneapolis music scene that hasn't been seen or heard before.
THE PHOENIX PHILOSOPHY
The Phoenix Philosophy is an Electronic Rock band from Minneapolis, MN. The idea behind the phoenix philosophy applies to the bands sonic evolution from a 4 piece rock band into a heavily electronic influenced duo consisting of Jesse Weber (vocals/keys/programming) and Stephanie Thorup (vocals/guitar/keys). Keeping the element of commanding guitars and introducing dueling male/female vocals over eerie synths creates a sonic blend of rock and electronic (pop) that matures and inspires with every release.
With several sold out shows at venues such as the Fine Line Music Cafe and First Avenue/7th Street in their hometown under their belt, The Phoenix Philosophy have also made their way across the midwest over the last few years. Most recently, they played to packed houses at The Rave/Eagles Club (Milwaukee, WI) and The Beat Kitchen (Chicago, IL). The band has shared the stage alongside national touring bands including Switchfoot, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Dangerous Summer, Icon For Hire, and Throw The Fight. The Phoenix Philosophy have also received airplay on commercial and internet radio. Stations such as 93x (KXXR Minneapolis, MN), Rockin 101 (WHMH St. Cloud, MN), Fearless Radio (Chicago, IL), and MIT Radio (Boston, MA) have spun tracks from the bands growing catalog.
Rising higher and burning brighter than ever, The Phoenix Philosophy have proven themselves as an unstoppable force and will continue to transcend beyond their roots in the Minneapolis music scene.
