Spuyten Duyvil's soaring vocal harmonies, traditional jug band energy, and abundant instrumentation propel the audience on a barn-burning romp through the last 100 years of American Roots music. With eight members singing and playing, this big acoustic band "rocks without running up the electric bill." (Rich Warren, Midnight Special) Their 2011 release, "New Amsterdam" was a Folk DJ favorite receiving enthusiastic airplay on over 165 stations in 5 countries and a "Top American Roots Album 2011" nomination from The Alternate Root TV. In additional to worldwide folk radio play, they've made stops at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival, The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Mad. Sq. Park, The Black Potatoe Music Festival, Caramoor's American Roots Music Festival, and Musikfest. Opener Loves It! was born in the vibrant, honky tonkin' community of Austin, TX in 2011. Vaughn Walters and Jenny Parrott, each veterans of the road, left their other bands to hit the ground running as a duo. Their homemade melodies and rhythms are inspired by folk, country, gospel and early punk.
