What Would Utah Phillips Sing?

Lena Spencer dubbed organizer-folk singer-storyteller-poet U. Utah Phillips the Golden Voice of the Great Southwest. Utah's music career began on Lena's stage in 1968, and for decades audiences packed the house to hear his homespun humor, righteous speeches, and fun-loving, encouraging songs. We would love to have his leadership today, but sadly Utah passed on to his reward in 2008. Tonight a group of long-time collaborators, family members, and inheritors of his mission will bring back his inspiring songs to raise money to restore his famous 1890s' VT Central Railroad flanger car into a Utah Phillips Library. Enjoy performances by Magpie, Annie & Jonny Rosen, Dan Schatz, Rik Palieri, The New Economistas and Utah's sons, Duncan and Brendan Phillips.
