Mondays, April 3, April 10 and April 17, 6-9pm
Cooking is a skill that can open up a new world of techniques, flavors and discoveries. This series of hands-on classes is designed to build skills and confidence for cooks who are new to or tentative in the kitchen.
You will be asked to explore and practice the techniques and recipes and be inspired to adapt them for seasonality, personal preference and to expand your own creativity. We'll cover knife skills, proper seasoning, cooking with high heat, sanitation and safety, roasting, baking, grilling, braising and more!
Monday, April 3- Knife Skills, Stir Fry, Seasoning We'll make a composed seasonal salad, fresh salsa and stir-fry; practicing knife skills for cutting vegetables, cooking with high heat, and the art of proper seasoning.
Monday, April 10- Roasting, Baking, Sautéeing We'll demo roast chicken with pan gravy, and you'll make sauteed chicken marsala, pan-roasted greens and buttermilk biscuits.
Monday, April 17- Grilling, Braising, Flavor Development We'll make French onion soup, the perfect grilled steak (on the grill, in a cast iron, and in a grill pan), green beans with almonds and brown butter and potato compliment.

This is a hands-on series of 3 cooking classes. Students are encouraged to bring a personal chef's knife, paring knife and steel (wrap in a clean kitchen towel for travel). Snacks will be served and students will be able to enjoy what they have cooked at the end of each class. No refunds or exchanges with less than 48 hours notice.
Parking is available in the parking garage at 28th & S streets.
