Opera Gala: Rome & Beyond..
New York City based Opera Gala presents ROME & BEYOND at 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 26, at IDEAL GLASS GALLERY, 22 East 2nd Street, NYC, co-hosted by Ideal Glass and enCANTA Collective. Open to children and adults of all ages, the concert celebrates the festive spring with operatic gems, featuring Robert Ward's chamber opera Roman Fever, and Dominick Argentos evocative song Rome, as well as scenes from Purcinella, Don Giovanni, Arabella, Les pêcheurs de perles, The Rakes Progress and Il barbiere di Siviglia with songs by Reger, Bernstein & Lucio Dalla. Performers include sopranos Crystal Glenn, Dasha Jensen, Catherine Swindle and Ellen Teufel; mezzo-soprano Stephanie Benkert; tenors Matthew Hernandez and K'idar Miller; and baritone Greg Hoyt; pianist Nobuko Amemiya; clarinetist Michael Dee; and stage director Laura Hirschberg.
