Tonight your applause will be preserved for posterity! Singer-songwriter Alex Smith will be recording two concerts for a new "Live at Caffe Lena" album. Smith grew up in the heart of the Adirondack Park and his music is inspired by the people of that area. With a rich baritone voice and a deft guitar style, Alex sings of the way life really is today in the North Country, with all its beauty and tough challenges. In the last couple years he has touring nationally with his band, The Mountain Sound, been featured on the Emmy-Award winning documentary "Songs To Keep" alongside Pete Seeger, Peter Yarrow, and Dan Berggren, and received extensive radio play nationwide. The new live album will feature songs from Smith's last two albums, "Hamilton County" and "Close to Home," as well as a handful of new pieces.
