17th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Commemorative Breakfast
The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History presents the 17th annual Martin Luther King Day Commemorative Breakfast featuring Civil Rights icon and 2013 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Rev. Dr. C.T. Vivian. Dr. Vivians accomplishments include being a trusted adviser to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., serving as a religious adviser to President Barack Obama during his successful 2008 campaign, and serving as National Director of Affiliates and strategist for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (S.C.L.C.). Additional special guest speakers include former City Councilwoman Rev. Dr. JoAnn Watson, Associate Pastor of West Side Unity Church and host of the TV and radio show Wake Up Detroit; Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony, President of NAACP, Detroit Branch and Senior Pastor of Fellowship Chapel; and Rev. Ed Rowe, Former Senior Pastor of Central United Methodist Church.
Doors open at 7 AM and seating is on a first come, first served basis; valet parking will be available. Breakfast begins at 8 AM followed by the program at 9 AM. Ticket include FREE admission to all exhibitions and MLK Day activities at the museum.
Tickets are $35 and are available at the museum, by phone at (800) 838-3006 or online here. GROUPS: Tickets are $30 each when purchased in groups of 10 or more. Proceeds benefit the museum's ongoing educational programming.
