1st Tuesday featuring Kevin Smith, Minnesota Orchestra, President and CEO
Minnesota Orchestra President and CEO Kevin Smith Kevin Smith has more than 30 years of institutional, artistic, and community leadership experience. He has served as president and CEO of the Minnesota Orchestra since 2014. The Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra is recognized for distinguished performances around the world, award-winning recordings, radio broadcasts, educational programs and commitment to building the repertoire of the future.

Previously, he served as president and CEO of Minnesota Opera. Under his leadership, the company expanded its season from three to five productions, doubled its attendance, grew its annual budget from $1.5 million to $9 million, and grew its assets to $28.8 million.

Smiths other accomplishments include the 1991 creation of the Minnesota Opera Center in the Minneapolis Warehouse District. He was instrumental in establishing the Arts Partnership. Throughout his career, Smith has been active in statewide arts advocacy, serving on the board of Minnesota Citizens for the Arts and as a member of Vote Yes Minnesota. In 2012, he received the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts Sally Award for Commitment, which recognizes lifetime achievement, contribution and leadership in Minnesota arts and culture.

If space allows, walk-up registration will be available day-of for $39, and we will accept cash or check only. Refund cancellations are required by Friday, March 3.

Lunch by D'Amico is included in the registration fee. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:50 a.m.
