Dog Years
Elliot, an emotionally withdrawn Japanese-American, wants nothing to do with his current business trip to Tokyo. The business trip soon turns dangerous as life in Tokyo unearths ghosts from Elliot's past, bringing to surface a life that he has struggled to put behind him. Tensions heighten when Elliot reconnects with Ben, his estranged American half-brother who is teaching English in Japan. Ben, an eternal optimist, is struggling with his own fear of abandonment as he attempts to navigate a foreign land and a potentially romantic relationship with one of his students. When Ben desperately tries to forge a bond with Elliot, Elliot must decide whether to give up on his family all together or confront his fears head on and engage in what might be his last shot at a meaningful relationship.
