Experience Architecture - Celebrating Sacramento Preservation Exhibit Reception
Celebrating Sacramento Preservation Exhibit is open Mon-Thurs, 9 am-4 pm, from Oct 17 through October 28, FREE
Plan to join us for a reception on October 21st from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at AIACV
Sponsored by: Comstock's Magazine, DPR Construction, Fulcrum Properties, Hogue, Milgard Windows & Doors, SMUD, LPA Inc, the Western Chapter of the Association for Preservation Technology (WCAPT) and Preservation Sacramento.
This photographic exhibit celebrates 40 years of Sacramento preservation and chronicles Sacramentos preservation history. It features photos of many of Sacramento's well-known historic buildings, each rehabilitated, restored, or adaptively reused, and was photographed by architect Rudy Calpo, AIA and other local professionals of note.
The exhibit also recognizes Sacramento's first historic preservation ordinance, the appointment of the first Preservation Board, and the establishment of Sacramento Heritage, Inc. in 1975 . It ties to the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, which set in motion our nation's program to identify and protect resources significant in national, state and local histories. The exhibit is part of a larger celebration that has been funded through private donations and sponsorships through Sacramento Heritage, with assistance from City of Sacramento partnerships.
For further information on the exhibit, and the 40th Anniversary celebration, please visit www.sacramentoheritage.org.
