Experience Architecture: Architectura Obscura

Join us for a reception and award presentation honoring the winning photographs entered into the Architectura Obscura Photography Competition, as well as the new Instagram category (that drew over 1,000 entries!)
Open to both professional and novice photographers, this year's competition focuses on the built environment in our region--from exciting new buildings and development, to historic and landmark buildings that are uniquely ours.
Enjoy refreshments while viewing the exhibition. A brief awards presentation will provide an opportunity to learn more about the winning images and the photographers. Exhibition will remain on display at JAYJAY through October 28th.
About the Presenter | Kristopher Barkley, AIA
Kris Barkley, AIA, of Dreyfuss + Blackford Architecture, has a passion for design and it shows. During his 30-year career, he has been repeatedly recognized by the industry for his cutting-edge building designs, including numerous awards for the California ISO Headquarters and Operations Center in Folsom. Kris love of the personal creative process is matched only by lively community debate on the subject of design. He continues to engage the best and brightest to increase public awareness of the value of good design through his ongoing leadership and involvement in AIACV and the American Institute of Architects, California Council (AIACC).

Experience Architecture is a public-outreach event designed to facilitate greater transparency with the public in how architects create our built environment and how it impacts their daily lives; to create an ongoing dialogue to inform a distinct, regional, architectural identity; and to highlight existing relationships between the region and its architecture. The 2016 event is scheduled from October 20th to October 23rd.
