One of the hottest bluegrass bands in New England, The Lonely Heartstring Band, was born as a wedding band hired to play Beatles music on bluegrass instruments. After the gig they decided to stick together and create a sound all their own. That initial inspiration by the Beatles was indicative of the groups love of great songs, brilliant arrangements and music that just plain feels good. Combining soulful instrumental virtuosity with soaring three-part harmonies, their sound combines a strong bluegrass feel with a pop-oriented songwriting and arranging sensibility.
Since their beginnings in 2012, The Lonely Heartstring Band has been on the rise and shows no sign of slowing down. With their 2015 IBMA Momentum Award and the recent release of their debut full-length album, Deep Waters, on the legendary Rounder Records label, there is every reason to hope that they are at the front edge of a significant career.
