Flamenco singer from Spain, Patricia Nunez, 'La Tiranta' will join Michael Hauser and a Touch of Spain, featuring dancers Sachiko Nishiuchi La Chayí and LAURA HORN, "LA GATITA".  Supporting musicians include guitarist SCOTT EICHORST, DAVID GREGORY on Cajon, and veteran jazz musician, CHUCK ARMSTRONG on flute and sax.


Patricia Nuñez "La Tiranta", singer, was born in Córdoba in 1987. She inherited her passion for singing from her musical family background, particularly her mother. She studied sculpture in the Academy of the Arts in Córdoba and from an early age worked with different musicians and artists from her city, such as Rafael Trenas Jr, Álvaro Vizcaíno, Xavier de la Torre and others. She later moved to Granada where she studied musical production and started her career. She has taken part in the Ensemble Español tours in the US. In 2016 She was  opening the Chicago Flamenco Festival singing for Raquel Heredia "La Repompilla". She sings regularly at different venues throughout the Chicagoland area and Midwest. She has performed with Pol Vaquero, Carmela Greco, Raquel Heredia and family and, among other notables.


Michael Hauser:

Michael one of a handful of flamenco guitar masters residing in the United States today. Having left a successful career as a forester in West Africa, he traveled to Spain where he began a lifelong affair with the intrinsically Spanish folk art...flamenco.

He has studied with a number of Spain's great flamenco guitarists including Luis Maravilla, Nino Ricardo, Just de Badajoz, and Juan Maya "Marrote". He has also studied classical guitar with Andres Segovia's protege, Jesus Silva.

he has performed in Europe and the Far East, He has completed numerous college and community tours as a soloist, as part of aGuitar Duo (with his brother, Tony, himself an accomplished classical guitarist), and a first guitarist with a number of Spanish dance companies. He is one of the founders of the well - known dance company, Zorongo Flamenco, and served as musical director and first guitarist for a number of years.


A Touch of Spain:

FLAMENCO  A Touch of Spain is an exciting new music and dance ensemble dedicated to presenting the art of flamenco in its most authentic form and Nuevo Flamenco which incorporates flute, sax, bass, percussion and guitar.

FLAMENCO - A Touch of Spain performs a style of flamenco music easily accessible to American audiences... the rhythms encourage the audience to dance and be part of the show!

FLAMENCO  A Touch of Spain is an upbeat and lively form of cultural entertainment perfect for corporate events and private parties as well as college, university, and community concerts, festivals, and fairs.


Sachiko Nishiuchi:

Sachiko Nishiuchi La Chayí is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor of flamenco.  She has worked for and with Flamenco companies and artists in Minnesota including Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre and guitarist Michael Hauser.  She was a recipient of the 2009 Peoples Choice Award at the Minnesota Sage Award for Dance and the 2006 Jerome Foundations Travel and Study Grant.  She presented her choreography works in Walker Art Centers Choreographers Evening and Momentum series.  She lived in Seville, Spain to study and perform from 2010 to 2015.  Her time in Seville proved transformational as she experienced its people, culture, language, and origins.  Sachiko believes in community building and founded Twin Cities Flamenco Collective in 2015 which offers education and performances in collaboration with Flamenco artists directly from Spain including world-renowned dancer Carmen Ledesma, singers José Méndez and Kina Méndez, and festero Javier Heredia.   Sachiko regularly teaches in Minneapolis and collaborates with artists and groups including Minneapolis Guitar Quartet.


Laura Horn:

Laura Horn, a Minnesota native, began dancing at a very young age. It was her love of movement that led her to pursue a BA in Dance from the University of Minnesota. She has trained extensively with Susana Di Palma and has performed in several Zorongo Flamenco productions as well as with SenderoFlamenco. When not dancing, youll probably find Laura practicing yoga or playing with her cat Marley.


David Gregory:

DAVID GREGORY is an accomplished flamenco guitarist having studied originally with MICHAEL HAUSER before moving to New York to study with PEDRO CORTEZ.  He then spent two years in Spain studying and playing with a number of the great maestros.  David has also studied Cajon intensively, and this will be his instument of choice for this performance.


Chuck Armstrong:

CHUCK  ARMSTRONG has been a mainstay on the Twin Cities flamenco scene for years. He has been a part of A TOUCH OF SPAIN since it's inception, and also performs Brazilian music  with guitarist TONY HAUSER.  Chuck is also a well known instructor of flute and sax.


Scott Eichorst:

SCOTT EICHORST, is a biologist by training, but has been a student of MICHAEL HAUSER for the past several years.  They often play together in various Twin Cities venues.
