Taking place on the first Wednesday of every month, Caffe Lena's poetry open mic, hosted by Carol Graser, is a relaxed, supportive performance opportunity for poets of all styles and levels of experience. Sign-up starts at 6:30 PM. Readings start at 7:00 PM. Each poet reads two short poems (less than one page) or one longer poem, with a limit of 5 minutes altogether.

This month's featured poet is Ken Hada. Raised in the rural Ozarks, with close ties to his Hungarian ancestors in the gypsum hills of northwest Oklahoma, Hada finds the natural order a powerful presence for writing. In addition to multiple journal publications, his work has been featured four times on The Writers Almanac. Ken has received national awards from the Western Heritage Museum and Western Writers of America. His six published books include Persimmon Sunday, Spare Parts, Margaritas & Redfish, The Way of the Wind and The River White: A Confluence of Brush & Quill. Ken Hada is a professor at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma where he directs the annual Scissortail Creative Writing Festival. Reviews and other information is available at www.kenhada.org
