Roles de Dame
Colorful, cheeky and definitely French. This is Cabaret at its best. Bruno Pilloix and Alyse Lewin present a fun filled tongue-in-cheek romp with music in the 1930's style at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm at The Tank theatre, 151 W. 46th Street, 8th floor, NYC.
The unique dilemma explodes when Frankie, a guitarist, hires three singers for a special evening's performance and only Betty shows up. She suddenly needs to be three singers or they lose the booking.
What is Frankie's relationship with these three ladies? How can Betty save him and maybe win his heart? Can Betty dress, move, breath and react like the missing singers? With original music and some well loved standards, Alyse Lewin and Bruno Pilloix give life to the people of this imaginary cabaret where jazz is the only thing that is real. Roles De Dame gently jokes with the public about the relationship between men and women in the 1930's and very comically asks the question has anything really changed?
