Architecture Matters | Quiet Design / July 2016
Join hosts Saxon Sigerson, AIA, Kris Barkley, AIA and Arturo Levenfeld, AIA for an evening of discussion around the nature of quiet architectural design.
Many of the worlds most celebrated buildings seem to be screaming for attention. The use of outrageous form and material has become commonplace as technology serves to enable this quest for a unique experience. Quiet buildings can often go unnoticed among these attention-grabbing structures yet often reward those that take the time to look beyond the obvious. Are quiet buildings valid in todays world? Are they like literature in a world of video headlines? Are the architects that design them somehow creating inferior experiences?
Our open forum discussion is intended to explore these questions and others in our continuing Architecture Matters Design Forum series.
