Personal bios
Putnam Smith
Putnam Smith's music flows easily, sweetly, like a spring hidden in the woods says Sara Willis, of Maine Public Radios In Tune by Ten. Since the release of his 2009 album, Goldrush, which climbed to #5 on the national Folk DJ Charts, Putnam has been setting out from his log cabin here in Maine on tours that have taken him all over the country. He has now performed in over 40 states nationwide, as well as several Canadian provinces. While steeped in Appalachian traditions, he is very much a storyteller for modern day, writing songs with whatever instrument he can get his hands on: guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano, and most recently, accordion. His new album, 99 Desires, marks his fifth solo release. www.putnamsmith.com
Ashley Storrow
Ashley began writing songs as a child in Western Massachusetts with a hay wagon as the stage and sheep for an audience. She ventured into vocal training at Skidmore College and has toured with chamber and a-capella groups. She has collaborated on a range of projects ranging from soul and jazz to a-cappella and folk trios. Her songwriting remains rooted in the folk tradition and incorporates intricate harmonies, soulful melodies, and acoustic finger picking. Her lyrics have been described as catchy and confessional and dare listeners to question and to simplify life. www.ashleystorrowmusic.com
