PLATIN SCALA PRESENTS VIOLINIST ELIAS DAVID MONCADO AT ST. JOHN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Platin Scala of Wenden Germany has been producing classic orchestral concerts and magnificent opera singers for twenty five years. They have most notably given famed orchestra leader Andre Riu his renowned Platin Tenors and Platin Coloratura Carla Maffioletti! And now American audiences have the unique opportunity to hear a rising star in the world of outstanding violinists!
Elias David Moncado is being introduced to American audiences as part of an exchange between Platin Scala of Wenden Germany and the New Castle Eintracht Maennerchor. In September the Maennerchor will be hosted in Germany by Platin Scala and the Kirchenchor of Meggen taking part in Platin Scala's 25th Anniversary Jubilee! We are blessed to partner with The Rev. Gayle Catinella, the staff, and good people of St. John's Episcopal Church of Youngstown and Patricia Perry with WYSU! Thank you for welcoming us and making this concert possible. The 15 year old violinist has won Grande Prizes in major European violin competitions including the famed Concors- Flame in Paris where he achieved the highest possible rating score and the Grande Prize at the International Young Paganini Competition in Legnica, Poland where he also took top honors for the "best interpretation of Paganini" and the Jury Prize for greatest individuality in musical performance. Elias plays an historic violin made by Nicholas Darche (Aachen 1845) awarded to him by the German Foundation of Musical Life in 2014. The young violinist has been a featured performer with symphony orchestras in Berlin, Prague, Penang(Malaysia), Munich, and more! Elias will be accompanied by his father Bernard Moncado, who is not only a gifted pianist but also a Conductor and the Chorus Master of the Opera at Theater Freiburg. Beside this position, Moncado has served as director, guest conductor, and choir director at opera houses and symphony orchestras in Aachen, Cologne, and Munich and Penang,(Malaysia) including his position in 1988-89 as musical assistant to the famed Leonard Bernstein at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. The Moncado's program will include Melodie and Valse Scherzo by Tschaikovsky, Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Jules Massenets Meditation, Zigeunerweisen by Pablo de Sarasate and other selections to be announced.
This is a great opportunity for young and old alike to experience truly a world class performer on the rise in a beautiful intimate setting. We believe at Platin Scala you will one day be saying "I heard Elias when he first came to America! And look at him now!" Please come join us in welcoming Elias and the Moncados to the United States!
