Fire
Just in time for Valentine's Day, get swept away with songs of passion, yearning and love in Fire, Seattle Pro Musica's upcoming series of outreach concerts. The performance features Morten Lauridsen's Fire Madrigals, set to Italian Renaissance poetry steeped in unrequited love. Also featured are selections from Joshua Shank's seductive and flirtatious Color Madrigals, the languid tenderness of Jonathan Miller's Let him kiss me, and sweet, poignant love songs by Samuel Barber, Dale Warland, and Eric Whitacre.
Plus, you won't want to miss the world premiere of Wild Nights! by Karen P. Thomas, Seattle Pro Musica's own Artistic Director and Conductor. The piece is set to a posthumously-published Emily Dickinson poem, unique in its tone of unrestrained passion.
There are three dates and locations available for this concert. For tickets to the performance at Richmond Beach Community Church on Saturday, February 2nd, please visit http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/311425.
