Albany band The Red Haired Strangers is fronted by Ryan Dunham and John Rice, who have been playing together for more than 20 years. Before the whole world cottoned on to "Americana," Ryan and John's beautiful old-school music drew on Country, Blues & Bluegrass to create the classic, rootsy sound that is the hottest thing on the folk scene today. From their origins as a guitar & harmonica duo, the Red Haired Strangers have blossomed with the addition of Joe Gumpper's fiddle, laced with some pedal steel (and dobro) from veteran Rick Morse, and Chris Scharl on drums.
Opening tonight's show is Caffe Lena favorite Dylan Perrillo with his new trio The Useless Cans.
