An all-female Celtic band out of Albany NY. They are known for their stunning vocal harmonies, singing the the Gaelic language and for their Irish wit. These ladies perform primarily, traditional Celtic/Irish music, but have written originals also. Triskele not only revitalizes the Gaelic language, but weaves history and traditions about growing up in Ireland, as told by our own Dublin born, Noeleen. This provides the listener a deeper appreciation of Irish/Celtic history and culture.
One obstacle that Triskele has had to overcome is to break through the male dominated Celtic music scene. Triskele has managed to win audiences over with unique, clear harmonies. They have gained local and international fans and supporters with their ability to keep traditional songs traditional but with fresh interpretations. Triskele's instrumentation includes, 12- string, mandolin, Bodhran, flute, whistles and various percussion instruments.
Triskele released their latest CD, "Triskele LIVE", in June 2015. The recording was made at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, in Troy, NY. Their premier CD came out in late 2010, "Look Back, Don't Stare" .
They have performed in a variety of venues from world famous Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy NY, Caffe Lena & The Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs, NY, the Rochester Fringe Festival, NY to The Mercantile Pub in Dublin and The Clifden Arts Festival in Ireland. Triskele has been invited and performed in various Celtic/Irish music festivals around New York State, Mid-West and Ireland. These women also make it their mission to tithe a portion of their proceeds from CD sales to local charities each month.
Triskele's fourth Tour of Ireland will take place in September of 2016 and will also include Scotland.
