Red Flags
A SPECIAL EVENT Sunday May 15, 2016 @ 3:00 PM One performance only! Written and performed by SUSAN GORDON-CLARK
Directed by Veronica Caicedo (Founder of Caicedo Productions, a parent company of The ONE Festival and the International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival.) RED FLAGS is the story of one woman's journey from a dream of a perfect love to the horror of physical and psychological abuse, and how she survived it all. Recognizing that you are in an abusive situation is the first step to breaking free. Many victims give up and return to their abusers again and again, continuing the cycle of violence. RED FLAGS shows you the warning signs that can make a difference between years of abuse and a lifetime of freedom. A special reception will be held after the performance. Theater patrons are invited to stay and enjoy refreshments in the gallery, and a meet-and-greet with the playwright/performer Susan Gordon-Clark. One out of every three women in the U.S. endures abuse during her lifetime. The Schoolhouse Theater is donating proceeds from this event to support the efforts of Hope's Door and My Sisters' Place, two important regional organizations that promote lives lived in safety and dignity, free from emotional, physical or sexual abuse.
