Nebraska Entrepreneur Educator Pre-Conference Session
Are you a high school or College/University instructor from Nebraska teaching the next generation of big idea thinkers!?! Join your peer instructors to learn innovative ideas for assisting the next generation entrepreneur while in your classroom.
This session is for any Nebraska educator instructing entrepreneurial-minded students, including those from across the curriculum programming and entrepreneur/business instructors. Each participant will receive take-away resources to readily implement in the classroom for immediate student engagement. Please bring a teaching tip, activity or recommended resource to share with your peers. Handouts of recommended entrepreneurial teaching ideas appreciated!
Speakers include:
Nisha Avey - Innovation Consultant, Nebraska Department of Economic Development will present the outlook for entrepreneurship in the State of Nebraska as well as discuss resource opportunities and programming available through the NDED for professors and students.
Dell Gines - Senior Community Development Advisor, Federal Reserve Bank. Dell will facilitate a conversation regarding the critical importance of Entrepreneur Education in America and offer a compelling insight to start student preparation early. Attendees will receive a guide for Youth Entrepreneurship Education to use with class development and instruction.
Lisa Tschauner - Chief Purveyor of Ingenuity, Open For Business Magazine / Educator / Consultant / Author. Lisa will inspire instructors to teach outside of the box....including the rubric box....to unleash creative ideas while molding viable opportunities. Attendees will receive Lisa's book, A Guide To Customer Service and Business Relationships.
Joeseph Frost - Founder of Frost Media Group / Educator / Creator of the documentary film, Winter Is Coming; showcasing 4 Nebraska entrepreneurs and their survival of the 4 seasons of entrepreneurship. Gregg Christensen - Entrepreneurship and Career Education Specialist with the Nebraska Department of Education. Mr. Christensen serves as Entrepreneurship and Career Education Specialist for the Nebraska Department of Education. He is one of the original members of the Nebraska Entrepreneurship Task Force (NETForce) and currently services as an ex-officio member of its Executive Committee. His mission is the same as that of NETForce, to Educate, Engage and Empower Entrepreneurs in the state of Nebraska. His experience includes serving as a high school business and marketing education teacher, local and state advisor for Nebraska DECA-an association of marketing, management and entrepreneurship students, university senior lecturer, adjunct faculty member, and youth leadership development consultant. He provides curriculum and professional development assistance to educators in the K-12, two year and four year postsecondary system as well as entrepreneurship advocates focused around entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship. He also hosts the Nebraska Entrepreneurship Education listserv, maintains the Nebraska Entrepreneurship Education website and acts as the state liaison for National Entrepreneurship Week activities in Nebraska.
