The three charming, talented women of Huxtable, Christensen & Hood formed their musical partnership while students at Skidmore College. In a testament to the strength of their friendship and musical synergy, they kept the trio alive for more than three decades despite geographical separation, motherhood, and demanding careers. Their tight vocal harmonies and lively, humor-filled performances have long made them a favorite with Caffe Lena audiences. Upon retiring from their non-music jobs in 2015, they dove back into the recording studio and came up with a new album that releases tonight. With songs inspired by sources as diverse as The Bay Psalm Book (1640), juke box collections, family reminiscences and old movies, they accompany themselves with piano, vintage reed organ, recorders, accordion, synthesizer and an assortment of whimsical percussion instruments.
