MOLLY DEAN RECORD RELEASE + DVRG
MOLLY DEAN:
Molly Dean involves herself in a multitude of creative projects as a vocalist, instrumentalist & composer. Her music has been described as "deceptively simple" and her presence "enrapturing - a songstress that eschews archetypal female folkisms with sexy, subtle rebellion."
With performances including the Guthrie Theater, singing duets with Garrison Keillor on A Prairie Home Companion, opening for Atmosphere & Trampled by Turtles at Bayfront Festival Park, to being featured on the cover of Vita.MN magazine- representing one of the top 4 bands in the Twin Cities, you will find that Molly Dean truly does revel in the creative diversity of it all.
It began with studying classical piano and fostering an unfolding love of instrumentation and composition. Being exposed to a multitude of genres of music at a young age, Molly found her focus begin to sharpen as a lyricist and songwriter. This graduated into solo performances, new musical collaborations, and national & international travel & performance. As a college student studying vocal performance and communication studies, Molly took the opportunity to both study and perform abroad while living in London & Amsterdam for just under two years. Upon returning home, Molly completed an additional degree in Sound Arts, and shortly after graduating, she moved to Alaska to be a waitress and sing in the small town bars in SE Alaska for the better part of a year. This sense of adventure, cultural influences, love of nature and independent spirit is prominent throughout the music that Molly creates..
DVRG:
deVon R. Gray may be the worlds last cultural enigma. The multi-instrumentalist, classically trained composer is as comfortable writing orchestral and operatic works as he is churning out jazz riffs and hip-hop bravado. And he does it all so effortlessly even he is unaware that hes working. While many creators spend hours perfecting their craft & skills, dVRG, as he is known, envisions the pen and watches the music write itself.
