Giselle & Original Works
Beauty and love, drama and betrayal with ultimate forgiveness characterize the classic story of Giselle, scored by Adolph Adams, first performed in Paris, 1841. Set in the Rhineland of the Middle Ages during harvest season, this poignant tale of peasant girl and prince piques the imagination and invites audience members' imaginations to journey to another time and place.
Preceding Giselle, young dancers (ages 3 to 6) will perform Under the Big Top, an upbeat circus-theme mini-ballet choreographed to music composed by Jacques Offenbach.
Vashon Center for Dance dancers will also perform original works choreographed by students and selected by instructors.
All proceeds benefit VAA dance.
