'Capers
'CAPERS written and performed by ANU YADAV directed and developed by PATRICK CROWLEY based on the housing struggle of Friends and Residents of Arthur Capper/Carrollsburg co-produced with DOG & PONY DC
OCTOBER 20-23, 2015
From the writer and performer of the 2013 sold-out hit, Meena's Dream, 'Capers is a stirring blend of theater, documentary, and activism. This one-woman show is based on the stories of families at DC's Arthur Capper/Carrollsburg public housing projects - nicknamed 'Capers - who protested the government-funded demolition of their neighborhood. 'Capers toured nationally, was included as part of high school and university course curriculum, and featured in the documentary Chocolate City. Returning to the piece after over 10 years, 'Capers looks at how a changing city affects the lives of those within it.
