AIARE March Membership Lunch Program
The Mission Statement of the Sonoma County Permit and Resource Management Department is:
Our mission is to serve the people of Sonoma County by providing a customer-focused process for the orderly development of real property, balanced with resource stewardship under the general policy direction of the Board of Supervisors and to develop and maintain standards that protect the health and safety of the public.
Please join us in a lunch program conversation with DeWayne Starnes and Dean Parsons as they share with us what is currently happening at PRMD, outline some of the goals and objectives of the department, and how we as architects can enhance and streamline our working relationship with this important jurisdiction.
DeWayne Starnes, PE, CBO is the Deputy Director and Chief Building Official for PRMD. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 1981, obtaining his license in 1984. He has been with the County of Sonoma in his current position for 13 years.
Dean Parsons is the Manager of Project Review Section (aka current planning). He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies/Planning, and from San Jose State with a Masters in Urban & Regional Planning. He has been the Project Review Manager at PRMD for 7 years
