One of our favorite yearly activities is to go the Folk Alliance conference and scout out new talent. The Bumper Jacksons were our big "find" of 2014 and this was the soonest we could get them up to Saratoga. Hailing from D.C. this 6-piece band is hot and sweet, painting America's story from New Orleans' brothels to Appalachian hollers, boldly and elegantly balancing homage to traditions with their own unique, DIY style. Recognized as the region's "Best Traditional Folk Band" at the 2013 and 2014 Washington Area Music Awards, the Bumper Jacksons bring you into the center of a party where everyone's invited and the dance floor never sleeps. How can you not have a blast with fabulous singing, washboard, suitcase percussion, trombone, pedal steel (the BEST pedal steel!!), bass, guitar and clarinet!
