Roberto Rosenman Quartet joue une variante moderne du jazz manouche français, un style de musique du Paris des années 1930, mené entre autre par le célèbre guitariste Django Reinhardt. Le guitariste et compositeur Roberto Rosenman a commencé comme guitariste classique, mais s'est tourné vers le jazz après la découverte de la musique de Django. Roberto a étudié le jazz manouche à Paris et participe chaque année, comme un pèlerinage, au Festival Django Reinhardt à Samois-Sur-Seine, le plus grand festival de jazz manouche du genre. Au fil des années, il s'est produit partout en Europe, au Mexique et aux États-Unis. Pour son dernier album Upstream Roberto s'est associé avec la chanteuse Barbra Lica et le poète/chansonnier Jack Mitchell. Loin d'un ensemble de jazz bohémien traditionnel, Roberto Rosenman Quartet prouve qu'il est un groupe de jazz moderne et polyvalent, avec un son acoustique unique qui fusionne le jazz manouche à des influences allant du be-bop à la bossa-nova.

The Roberto Rosenman Quartet plays a modern variant of French gypsy jazz, a style of music originating in 1930's Paris with famed gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France. Guitarist and composer Roberto Rosenman began as a classical guitarist but turned to jazz after discovering the music of Django. He studied gypsy jazz in Paris and makes the yearly pilgrimage to The Festival Django Reinhardt in Samois-Sur-Seine- the largest gypsy jazz Festival of its kind. Over the years, he has performed throughout Europe, Mexico and the USA. For his last album "Upstream", Roberto teamed up with vocalist Barbra Lica and poet/lyricist Jack Mitchell who penned lyrics to three compositions. Far from a traditional gypsy jazz ensemble, the Roberto Rosenman Quartet proves itself a versatile modern jazz group, with a unique acoustic sound that fuses gypsy jazz with modern jazz influences from Bebop to Bossa Nova.
