Experience Architecture Film Screening - No Time for Ugliness
This year marks the 50th anniversary of a 23-minute AIA sponsored film titled 'No Time for Ugliness'. In it, the beautifully shot film highlights case studies in urban renewal (like Detroit's Lafayette Park) and historic preservation (like Washington, D.C.'s Georgetown). It also warns us of the uniformity of the American suburb and the thoughtless environment that results from
car-related development.

A panel of community leaders and experts, including Ben van der Meer of the Sacramento Business Journal and Katherine Bardis of Bardis Homes, will share what they are doing now, and what is possible in the future.

Sponsored by: ARC Document Solutions, SMUD, Milgard Windows & Doors, Comstock's Magazine, Fulcrum Property, Wood Rodgers, Inc., HGA Architects, Rainforth Grau Architects, and the Department of Design, Sacramento State University.

The 2015 Experience Architecture Week will take place Thursday, October 22nd to Sunday, 25th. To see our tentative list of events, click here.  Visit and LIKE the Experience Architecture Week page on FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/AIACVArchFest

Experience Architecture  is developed and led by AIA architects and associate members in collaboration with our allied members,  corporate partners and various community organizations.

It is designed to facilitate greater transparency with the public in how architects create our built environment and how it impacts their daily lives; to create an ongoing dialogue to inform a distinct, regional, architectural identity; and to highlight existing relationships between the region and its architecture.
