Tuck & Patti
Jazz duo, Tuck & Patti, may be best known for their Windham Hill release Tears of Joy, #8 Top Contemporary Jazz albums of 1988. Since then, they have release an additional 13 albums and the husband/wife duo tours extensively around the world.

Oklahoma born guitarist Tuck Andress first met singer Patti Cathcart, San Francisco native, at an audition in 1978. "I was already in the band, and one day Patti came to audition. She walked in, said hi, passed out her charts (Horace Silver's "Out Of The Night Came You") and we started playing the song. Within a few seconds of hearing her sing, I knew that I had found my musical soulmate." They married in 1983, and have been making music together ever since.

Known for their heartfelt, soulful arrangements, Patti's silvery-smooth vocals and Tuck's articulate guitar work, these two are dedicated to the art as well as the positive message they share. They believe in the intention behind the music, which makes their music seamless with the life they've chosen. "When we are playing together, I play almost exclusively for Patti. It is as if nothing else exists," explains Tuck.

Patti agrees, "It goes back to the fundamental principle we agreed on when we first got together in 1978: We don't sing or play a single note that doesn't come from our hearts. Although I studied acting and became very good at acting out a musical role convincingly, we decided there would be none of this in what Tuck and I do. If it speaks to my heart, then I can make it speak to your heart."
