Young, Gifted, Black Girls' Conference Dinner
This elegant dinner concludes a one-day conference, hosted by Metropolitan Community College, for 10th - 12th grade girls from the metro Omaha area intended to inspire hope and build skills, knowledge, and awareness of key issues facing Omaha's young black women.
The keynote speaker, Kemba Smith Pradia, is the author of POSTER CHILD, detailing her story of redemption after an abusive relationship with a drug dealer left her pregnant and in federal prison. Kemba fought her way to freedom and was granted clemency by President Clinton in December 2000. Since her release, Kemba has traveled the country telling her moving story. Her message at the Young, Gifted, Black Girls' Conference will center on her personal testimony, healthy relationships and healthy choices, understanding your purpose in life, and striving for excellence through education.
Please join us for this important community event to be held at the Metropolitan Community College's beautiful Swanson Conference Center. This event is intended for individuals high school age and up.
