First Pages Workshop
The first pages of your novel are vital to getting an agent, winning over an editor, and, ultimately, capturing the interest of a reader. Unfortunately, the beginning is also sometimes the most difficult part to write. In this workshop, we will help you mould and refine your first ten pages, leaving you with practical, personalized strategies for revision.
The class works like this: Nina LaCour and Kristen Tracy will read your submission before class and both of them will provide you with written feedback and suggestions. You will also be responsible for reading up to five other students' beginnings. In your group of no more than six students, led by either Kristen or Nina, you will engage in a constructive, structured discussion of your and your classmates' beginnings.
We look forward to getting started with you!
Please note: In order to give everyone enough time to read, enrollment for this class ends on 1/13/12 and all submissions must be in at that time.
