Another World's Rapture Remix: An Electroacoustic Chamber Recital
Alarm Will Sound performers take on some of today's most innovative and challenging electroacoustic music. Courtney Orlando tackles pioneering composer Mario Davidovsky's Synchronisms No. 9 for violin and tape. Clarinetist Bill Kalinkos takes us Toward Another World... with Roger Reynolds' work for clarinet and electronics. Beth Stimpert, bass clarinetist, brings Anna Clyne's Rapture to life. Mixing it all up, pianist John Orfe performs Matt Marks' Disney Remixes. With bionic strength percussionist Payton MacDonald closes the concert with Super Marimba,an eclectic mix of jazz, classical, Hindustani music, and whatever else might be in his head at the moment!
The Mizzou New Music Summer Festival box office will open two hours prior to each concert. The evening of Tuesday, July 12, the box office will be located in the lobby outside of Whitmore Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building on the MU campus. For performances taking place July 14-16, the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts' box office will be open two hours prior to each concert.
